Janson is a native of the Fargo-Moorhead area. Amidst classical piano training, brass instruction, and percussion lessons, he somehow found time to take up guitar. Janson spent 10 years in the Twin Cities, receiving private instruction from Slim Dunlap (The Replacements), Jim Johnson (Gypsy), Randy Anderson (Badfinger), Bruce Allen (The Suburbs), and other Minneapolis musicians. His diverse career in music has included pit orchestras, jazz ensembles, rock bands, acoustic duos, brass quintets, marching bands, piano accompanist, vocal choirs, songwriting & arranging, studio sessions, live audio engineering & lighting, and recording production. Music ministry has been at the center of Janson’s life for over 20 years and he continues to be excited by new challenges.
