Janson Michael Steffan
Worship Leader / Administrative Assistant
Janson is a native of the Fargo-Moorhead area. Amidst classical piano training, brass instruction, and percussion lessons, he somehow found time to take up guitar. Janson spent 10 years in the Twin Cities, receiving private instruction from Slim Dunlap (The Replacements), Jim Johnson (Gypsy), Randy Anderson (Badfinger), Bruce Allen (The Suburbs), and other Minneapolis musicians. His diverse career in music has included pit orchestras, jazz ensembles, rock bands, acoustic duos, brass quintets, marching bands, piano accompanist, vocal choirs, songwriting & arranging, studio sessions, live audio engineering & lighting, and recording production. Music ministry has been at the center of Janson’s life for nearly 25 years and he continues to be excited by new challenges. He is currently a grad student at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, preparing to take his place in ordained ministry as an Elder in the United Methodist Church.

Choir Director
"I am originally from Enderlin, North Dakota where I lived and went to school until I graduated in 2018. I was involved in many community and school extracurriculars including choir, church choir, band, speech, one-act, baseball, and NHS. After I graduated high school, I enrolled at Valley City State University to pursue degrees in elementary education and music, and I am currently student teaching third grade in the Fargo area. After student teaching, I plan to graduate from VCSU in December 2022. During the summers while I was at college, I worked as a counselor at Wesley Acres Camp and Retreat Center, planning and leading activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the campers, and finally giving them an experience that helped them grow in faith, selflessness, and compassion. I am excited to be a part of this congregation, and be able to share my love of music and worship with you all!"
