Flame of Faith UMC, is a great place to come and learn about God's hope in our lives. What a great joy to share together, worship together, learn together and serve together. Flame of Faith UMC is ready to change the world, would you like to join us?
As an avid Christ-follower, I have been searching to understand the mystery that is God my whole life. I've found that a life in Christ is a life spent outside oneself, looking at the world around me and seeing where I can help. A life in Christ is always about finding those dark places in the world, in my life, in the lives of others and shining the hopeful and loving light of God.
I grew up in Yankton, SD and felt a call to ministry through my local United Methodist Church and the Dakotas Church Camps. This calling led me to Simpson College, in Indianola, IA. At Simpson, my thirst for ministry expanded through working with great communities of faith, First Baptist Church of Indianola, Las Americas: La Communidad de Fe UMC, and Shalom Zone and Gatchel UMC. I attended seminary at Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville TN and continued to grow in the communities of Inglewood UMC and West End UMC. As a Pastor in the Dakotas Conference, I've most recently served as associate Pastor at First UMC, in Sioux Falls, SD.
Through my time here at Flame of Faith I have been grateful to see God's work here in West Fargo. I'm encouraged by the care of church members for each other and the community at large. We are seeking God's path in all we do and I can't wait to see what we can do next. In our most recent connection to the work of neurodiversity and inclusivity of disable-bodied and able-bodied folk, we are reaching out in new ways to see Christ in each other.
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Sara McManus
